Innovative teaching is the responsibility of ever teacher from Prep-Uni. Real life situations are a concept that I have been brought up numerous time in the last week. Fellow student talk about there VET class engaging there student because they are hands on activities. In "Active learning through multimedia" it discussed flight simulation. Even in my own work I can see how multimedia can improve my work as the educator and the students as the learner. The frog jump exercise was a great example.

Making the frog jump was a fun, educational, and great team building exercise. The design breif that we used was a great planning template for technology studies. Adding it to my "Must show the guys at work file"

Some of the websites that we have been introduced to have given me some fantastic new ideas, i'm really excited to try them out.

I love my Avatar! http://doppelme.com/ have student make Avatars wold be valuable to me. As a specialist teacher I will have multiple classes, Having a visual image of student will help someone like me to remember names and faces. it would also be interesting to see how student view themselves and how that changes over the years of there education.
http://www.wordle.net/ is going to be a fun exercise to do while brain storming. I plan to share this one with the colleges.

I found Scootle to be a fantastic resource for schools in general, I would love to get feed back from colleague. From a food technology stand point I have not been able to find large amounts of information.
After having a look on the AusVels http://ausvels.vcaa.vic.edu.au/ scootle would not be my first choice for information.

MS Publisher is a tool I use regularly. It has endless possibility with student. A great feature of publisher is that students can create from scratch or use one of the samples provided. Having a finish product for students to view and change is a great learning tool, when students can see a high quality versions of work, it inspires them to lift the standard of their own word.
